When cloud chat is not an option

Use a chat on your own machine when the thread should not leave hardware you control. That includes private data, offline work, and a rule that blocks cloud AI for that material.

Local chat does not replace your organization's data rules, security review, or IT approval.

It is a good fit for drafting, summarizing, and questions about a document already on the device. It will not match a cloud assistant for live search, connectors, or finished files in several formats.
