AI Fluency Levels
Where are you in your AI fluency?
Five levels, from knowing what AI is to using it to do better work. The shift that matters most is Guide.

1Understand
I know what AI is and where it can go wrong. Enough to avoid magical thinking. Not enough to build a model.
2Use
I can use AI for simple, low-risk tasks. Summarize, draft, brainstorm. You still revise before anyone else relies on it.
3Guide
I can direct AI toward better work. Context, constraints, and a pushback. This is the shift most people skip.
4Integrate
I can build AI into a repeatable workflow. A prompt, template, or assistant you can run again, with a person still deciding.
5Expand
I can use AI to extend what I am capable of. Better judgment and harder work, not just a faster first draft.
Many people try AI, get a flat answer, and decide the tool is not useful. Usually the tool was never given the context, direction, or standard the work needed. Guiding it is the bridge between a one-off prompt and fluency you can reuse.

- A self-check you can run on one real task
